Default Red Line or White Wall?

Just bought a 1964 coupe (black & red interior). It came with red line tires, which do look great with the interior. But I'm trying to decide on whether to keep the red lines or put on original white walls. What should I do, make it original or stay with the red lines? Need advice.

I opted for redlines on my 66 even though their not correct. It's all a matter of personal preference.

Well how about a pic so you can get 20 different answers and in the end, what it comes down to is what you prefer.

Well for some white walls are 80 bucks a tire vs 250 a tire for red lines.

Unless you plan on having it judged redlines on a black car will always look MUCH better! My .02

I like red-lines. Never liked whitewall tires.
I like blackwalls with a color-matched rim also.

Go with what you like-you'll be looking at it for awhile.

I put red lines on my correct 66 just because they look better.

I'm still stuck on Goodyear Blue Streaks from the 60's. To each his own.

Do what you like. I prefer white walls on a c2 almost universally myself, and yellow lines/red lines/blue streaks are next.

I know gold lines and white walls were stock and, I actually do like 'em on a white, gold, yellow or any light colored car but, to me at least, they just don't look good on a red or dark colored car hence, I still run redlines on my car even though it's been repainted back to it's original Laguna blue which, is still somewhat dark.

I think you just told us that you like the way the redlines look. So I think you have plenty of time to decide what you want to do in the future.

I totally agree with Gary, I have red lines on my red '67 and don't like them against a red car. Mine will be for sale shortly

I'm partial to red lines, and think they look spectacular on a black C2!

I like white walls myself, but red lines will look cool on your car.
