This seems to be the accepted arrangement. Noland Adams book cites other authors (pp412-414)

This judging manual was written in Fall 1992, 3rd edition. I know there are updates.
I think there have been many reproduction grill teeth over the years. Original teeth I have seen over the years are the only units with numbers. And cars I owned and restored [ 9 of them] had numbers as above.
I also say ''NEVER HAPPENED'' does not exist is the production of these old great cars.

NCRS Judging manual says, '' Thirteen teeth symmetrically arranged outboard from center, with three outer teeth each progressively smaller than the seven center most teeth. The illustration shows L/R numbers of #6,#5,#4,#1,#1,#1,#C,#1,#1,#1,#4,#5,#6. It also states that Service replacement teeth may show a ''nose'' less pointed than original.''

Would be interesting to know production details about this

Do you have the grill ''oval' ? Very hard part to find and expensive. In the 80's and 90's they cost $1500-$2500
Complete original 56 teeth, center bar, mounting parts also are hard to find. And condition is very important. I bought a set with oval at Pomona Swap meet in 1981 for $1750 and felt real good. Car was in a front crash, and very repairable, but grill and oval was destroyed .
Think of it this way. They made 3467 Corvettes in 56 and 6339 in 57. Thats 9806 cars over two years. Here we are 65 years later, how many are left. SHOP on eBay and NCRS Driveline to get and idea of value

All this talk about 56/57 grille teeth just reminds me of what I tell people when they comment on how pretty my car is. I always tell them that when you look at it from the front it looks like a “cute girl with braces” which usually gets a chuckle from them.

Had my car for over 10years and never knew my grill was wrong!!!!!!!!no C in the center. 7 ones and no C. Ordered one today. This is why this site is so valuable to Vette owners.
