Default new 'sneakers' on my '67

For those that might be interested I've completed my wheel / tire transformation on my '67 roadster.

Wheels are Ame Racing Trq Thrust M, Antracite 17 x 7 , backspacing 4" (0 offset)
Tires are Firestone Firehawk Indy 500 225/55-17

Everything fit perfect, no clearance issues.

Your car looks terrific! Love the look of 17's on C2's and I may upgrade next year myself. Did you need to relocate the rear parking brake bracket on the trailing arms?

No Tom, everything is / was left as is. FWIW 225/55-17 tires are for all purposes the exact same height as the 205/75-15's that I took off.

Nice sunny day and the top is up...

Guess you don't want to wrinkle the canvas...

Wonder if the new owner of the GS is taking the top off...

Looks great Dave!

Nice fit.

With my recent experience with reluctance of tire shops willing to balance my 225-60-15's, and no manufacturer making a V or better speed rated performance tire for 15 inch rims, the 17's are the next good fit. They are also available for a reasonable price.

Nice rim to tire ratio. A good look.

I really like it.
Can you post the exact A/R part number you used?

I prefer more tire and less wheel. 15's preferred on a 60's Vette.
Just my .02

The wheel/tire combination looks great.

It really depends on what you're looking for. You could go with red if you want the calipers to stand out, black if you want the calipers to be noticed but not stand out, or gray if you just want them to blend into the background behind the wheels. I think black would be just enough to compliment the wheels but not grab to much attention away from the wheels.

I too agree with your thinking, definitely not red IMO, as for the 'as is' grey look ........ just might give 'em a shot of clear and be done with it.
