This was my friend's 365 hp '65 after he ran it off the highway and it caught fire. All that was left was from the gas filler door to the rear bumper tips. Another friend purchased the car new and had swapped the hubcaps with his father's '64 coupe. It was a real shame as the car was a very low mileage car and showroom clean when the accident happened.

Redundantly more photos of the same car ..... But Thanks again
This Vette is sorta cool looking. A little too much rear flare for me...but would be a neat hot rod.....

2023 C2 of the Year Finalist - Unmodified
So, let me ask everyone this question. In 20-25 years, will Corvette owners/enthusiasts like us today, think the same thing about the current restomods, as we do the modified cars of the 1970s and 80s?

Here's another beauty. Only $15k though. Gotta wonder what some people are thinking when they reach for that Saws-all.

Are you referring to my car? I respect your opinion but I'm also thankful for the other comments. The car is a hot rod. The previous owner gave me pictures of the ugly heap it once was. The original L72 was gone. This frame off car was built with to be a California replica. He took it to Detroit and drag raced the first C7 that was ever put on the road and he tells me it was neck and neck. The car's nickname is "Widowmaker". Is faster than I dare to drive it, that's for sure. The rear view mirror is a surfboard.

2021 C1 of the Year Finalist - Modified
Posted by Poorhouse,
Your "STUPID" is My Personification of Your Original.
Personification/Modifying Objects is Part of Human Nature. For some it's staying in the "Main Stream" of whats Most Accepted, while for Others it's More About making that same Object/Thing something Different from that of What You Deem as untouchable in your Eyes, but not Mine. end quote
I am different, therefore I want my cars to be different ! I don't feel that every Corvette needs to be "restored". I get that with my Hot Rod 60 occasionally at car cruises. But how often do you get to see a flamed 60 with a nicely done (in the 70's) button tuck white interior?? Pops

I've seen far worse, and it is well done. Not my cup of tea, though, thanks anyway.

I'd take of the '427' and Chevy emblems, install Ferrari emblems, and go out and have fun with it.

I like the trunk on post 69 and I think the B&W picture on 85 is the Dead Man's Curve/Jan and Dean Corvette.

You are thinking correctly, Aerovette. That is Jan's crashed '66 coupe.

Here's another interesting one, I actually really like the shape of the fenders on a midyear, its hard for me to like this car with the fenders modified like this..almost makes it look plain.

I could probably own that one..... but on the other hand.... the flattened front fenders are hard to look at ....knowing the beauty of the orginal
