1966 Original Shocks?
I pulled these off my 1966 convertible (late October 65 build date) when I was rebuilding the rear end a couple of months ago. I just blasted them and they look original but that seems like a long shot?

That looks like a steering damper, not a shock absorber. If so, Pliacell 3178100 is correct p/n for OEM steering damper. The date code in you photos is Julian day 222 (August 10th) 1965. Don't know what the 'A' means; probably a shift or plant code of sorts.

They look like originals.....but not the correct part numbers per NCRS Judging Manual. But the dates and logos look good. Probably service replacements.
I gave the old ones on my 1967 car away to a good home. They were used and not correctly dated for my car........but were originals for a 1968. They were installed on an NCRS Judged 1968 L88 car.
