Burnouts are for kids, and tires are expensive!

Not to spectacular, but I had fun. This car has 89k original miles on it and no line lock. But the old school wheels and tires hook up pretty good. I've only put 3000 miles on this car since 1980 but they might be the hardest 3k miles because when I get in it it's hammer down. Makes me feel like a kid again.

A little OT but, it IS burnout related so, just I thought I'd share.
We were going to do a little "after hours" partying at my friends bar one night so, as I was bringing my Harley in through the door he say's "Do a burnout"!
So, I rev'er up, pop the clutch and, did about a 15-20 footer shooting the floor mat at least 30' out into the parking lot while sliding sideways and, almost wiping out the bar stools and, a few people. Only thing that saved me was some stools had been put up on the bar for cleaning the next day and everyone luckily jumped out of my way.
Man, what a night!
I left the bike there and, got home somehow (don't remember) later that evening/morning. Next day when I came in to pick it up, the bar maid was on her hands and knees trying to scrub that patch of rubber off the floor, all the while bitching at me 'cause it wouldn't come off.
Ah, the good 'ol days!

I'm not a kid, I'm 73 and still abusing my cars (or anything else) every chance I get. And if I break it, I fix it.
Here's the 56.
My grand kids love to ride with Pappa.

I like a burn out as much as anyone but at age 16 I was taught you never do a burn out when people are close by. One blown tire or broken axle and you will hit the crowd.
These cars can have so much power it is easy to lose it with no mechanical problem.
Do burn outs and have fun but keep safety in mind.
A few years back my buddy had just finished his 71 Challenger 340 4 speed restoration.
Leaving a graduation party many teased him to Light em up! He did, the car whipped around so fast it almost creamed a 1970 SS454 Chevelle parked at the same party as well as several other cars. He is far more selective when and where he will do this now.
