If I were in this situation, I would seek out another C1 owner with a complete driving car and buy him lunch over a look-over of the two cars, side by side.

The thing that I don't get is this....how could it have ever fitted in the first place if you remove the hinges and the hood is hitting the radiator and support??
Just this alone tells me the front body needs to come up, but that's not a trivial thing...it's more than just the 2 bolts on each side inside the wheel well...it's the cans (vents) that are riveted to the body will move up also and then they won't line up to the radiator housing.
Like I said...this is a weird one.
I had all sorts of problem with my front....and I had to take the shroud out...and redo the mounting of the cans and redrill new front body mounting holes that go into the radiator housing.

Thanks
I wanted to post a thank you to all who helped with this thread. As you can see the hood fits somewhat normally although, I wish I could find another 1/16th of an inch. I found a warped core support that I believe happened in the paint shop. I'm thinking they used it to hoist the body onto rollers. It's the only reason I can think of to explain the "fit good before" scenario. The core support had just enough bow in it to allow the front rib on the hood to hit before proper alignment could be reached. Thanks again fellas, sorry it took so long to get back to you with the findings.
this is a few weeks ago. I was able to get the grab bar and some wiring done last week end
