Looked at a 66 Big Block in Tennessee today
Drove 224 miles, GPS is great
Looked at a 66 390 horse yellow two top roadster that ran out on ebay.
Not original engine, Not original Big Block car.
Maybe I can save someone the trip.
No comment necessary.

It would have been more convincing if he had put the hood support on the driver side, removed the expansion tank and found a correct red line tach - well maybe - maybe not.

That expansion tank, and the redline hit me in the face when I got there, and I certainly know that, just missed it, getting old, feel dumb. My thinking was I could buy the car at some price whatever it was but I did miss the easy stuff. Owner is either clueless or looking for a sucker, I suspect the later.

If that is the car on eBay, I'll say this for him - at least he didn't say "numbers matching", or otherwise use direct language intimating that it was a born-with car. However, for the unknowing, they could incorrectly assume that it was born a big block I suppose.

Sounds like he's looking for correct car money for a non-correct car.
It's a pretty car though.

A good example of why you need an expert inspection when your not sure what your spending your hard earned money on.

I hate these clowns (dealers and private sellers), they have no compunction about lying to you and letting you drive hundreds of miles in the hopes they'll "reel in" a sucker and are completely unapologetic when you "call them" on their unethical BS.
Did this more times than I care to relate when looking for a split window
Sometimes you get sweet revenge. One 340hp SWC I looked at in a Sarasota dealer's showroom that he had just bought turned out to be a base motor 'made up' car and he didn't know it.
He paid the SHP price but maybe recouped it screwing some other naive buyer...but the look on his face when I clued him in was worth the trip

I suspect that we hear of far fewer "I bought a misrepresented car" stories than actually occur due to embarrassment on the buyer's part. They probably just roll over the loss as a lesson learned.
Perhaps more importantly, the average sale price of these cars is unnaturally skewed upwards by unscrupulous seller's falsely inflated prices.
