Those are cool photos.. I've lived in San Diego since '76.
El Cajon Blvd used to be THE spot to cruise on Saturday night.
They now do a nice weekly car show in the summer.. in fact, this photo was taken not far from there last summer:

Thanks all, the pictures really help. The car is a race car configuration so I was wondering about how much Guaranty did in the racing world. I ordered the NCRS dealer info a few months back, not much there except the build date and dealer numbers and address. This is all I have left of those days that came with the car:

My Dad was a Service Writer at Guaranty Chevrolet in the late 60s
His name was Gary Clawson. Hl Hutmacher was a mechanic there, too. I think their friend John Cogburn was a mechanic there too. We lived in the neighborhood and then out in Spring Valley (suburb) until mid 1978. He and some of the other guys that worked there used to help build stock cars that ran at El Cajon Speedway and also moto cross race bikes that raced out in SanTee. My dad restore 50s Chevys, on the side mostly Bel Airs and Nomads. Once located at 4050 E. Cajon Blvd., San Diego, Calif. There appears to be a Guaratty Chevrolet in Santa Ana...not sure if it is connected to the old one.

Ditto my '65 coupe (per NCRS). Knowing that it spent some quality time in SoCal during those crazy days strengthens an already deep emotional bond that I have with this car.

Hi Harry, it is the one you and Tom Kobman pulled out of the garage in Cincinnati, black with white leather Z06 equipped with TI. According to the original owner's brother, the original owner was a naval aviator at Naval Air Station Miramar. I got the original owners warranty book too. I got to talk to Tom for a long time over several days in Chicago at MCACN a few weeks ago. He had great stories of the car.
