Default California & Route 66

I just got home from an amazing road trip. We trailered my 60 Restomod from Northern Canada to Southern California. We drove the Pacific Coast Highway and then headed east on Route 66. The highlight of the trip was touring Foose Design and meeting Chip Foose. He especially liked my wheels because he designed them . The best part of the trip was taking my 75 year old father with me. Kevin Santa Monica Pier

Nice story specially taking dad along your journey, something special to remember years to come. I know people that have meant Chip, is down to earth car guy.

Sitting here in the Great White North in sub zero temperatures I'm envious! Before I bought my car I dreamed of what your doing now. Maybe one day : ). Congratulations!

Very cool great trip i am guessing one of the best parts of the trip was having your dad along for the ride, it does not get any better when you can have your family with you.

Must have been great to drive it with your dad.
My son and I drove some sections of the route when he was going to school in Flagstaff.

Great pictures and trip I did Route 66 back in 2000 and had a blast. Drove all the way from Mass. 7,400 miles in 3 1/2 weeks. It was a trip of a lifetime. Your pics brought back some great memories.

I live in Indianapolis area and could catch Route 66 in St. Louis and I would love to drive it all the way to California but then I would not want to drive it back. I guess if I had some one go with me in my 67 Coupe one of us could drive out and the other drive back that way we both would get to look out and see everything. I think I will put that on my list to do in the next couple years. The good thing is I have A/C in my 67 Coupe I am sure that will help depending on when I go. Maybe we could get several Forum members to all go at one time like a Corvette Caravan. Now that would be cool.

Beautiful pictures! Very cool that you could take your dad too. My son and I drove Route 66 in 97 in the 61. Put on about 6500 miles round trip. Truly an experience of a lifetime although I'm hoping to do it again.

Nice photos, thank you for sharing! I haven't been to Santa Monica in mmmmm years. I used to live about a block away from the pier (joys of rent control).

We must've been neighbors. This photo was my '63 parked at the end of my street - look between the palm trees and you'll see the ferris wheel and roller coaster on the pier
