Default Tire/Wheel Combo Question (TT II)

Greetings. Searched the forum, and found some help, but nothing absolute. I'm in the market for new wheels and tires. 1965 convertible here. Has anyone had experience with either of the following setups?

Option A (preferred):
18x8 Torq Thrust II
225/50R18
These wheels have a 4.50" backspace

Option B:
18x7 Torq Thrust II
Tires TBD
These wheels have a 4.25" backspace

Main concern is the backspacing at this point, so curious if anyone else on here has seen these wheel/tire combos. Thanks.

These are on my 67. If you like the set-up I can check into the dimensions. Loads of compliments even from old ladies

Beautiful. Thanks for the info. I was thinking I'd have to go to 17". Looks great.

So nice! If I read that correctly, those are 225/50R17, which is slightly different that Mikado's above "(17 x7, 4" backspace) with 225/55-17". By the looks of it, I'm guessing that the wheels are the same, and it's just the sidewall height that is slightly different. Either way, if you have the information handy, I would love to know what size those wheels are and what the backspacing is. Between these two, it looks like I have exactly the information I was hoping for.

Ike, for the record my 225/55-17 will place you almost perfect to stock height tire dimension whereas 225/50-17 will be off enough to notice on ones speedo

The receipt is hard to read but looks like the wheels are 17x7 Torq-Thrust 2.1 with 4" backspace. Tires are 225/50/17. It does sit a bit lower than stock but I like that. I can measure the difference between these are the stock times I have if required. Good luck

Went with the 17x7 and 225/55/17. Love it. Replaced all rubber suspension bushings, put on new Bilstein shocks, and sandblasted/painted suspension while I was in there.
