Default Fiberglass Repair (C1 Hood Support)

Hello, the fiberglass where my hood support is mounted to the fender is cracked, and it flexes just with the weight of the hood. I am looking for advice on repairing this area before it becomes a bigger problem. Anyone dealt with this before?

the brace will work, but is not "correct" - if you dont care about correct......
The other thing you could do after repairs is cut a rectangle of fiberglass and bond to the underside to try and give that area strength - then use longer bolts for the hood prop

The brace states 1960-1962, so will it work on the 59?

My wife's 1960 didn't have this brace or anything else in its place and I couldn't believe how far the edge of the fender bowed down when the hood was up (this is when we went to purchase the car). I was surprised it hadn't already broken the fender and immediately asked the seller if we could close the hood and then the first thing I did when we got the car home was duplicate the brace shown in the link above out of some 3/32" sheet steel. What a difference that brace makes!

I installed the same brace. It really does help.

Hi, do you have the actually part number for the pictured brace/bracket. Link attached doesn't work for me and I can't seem to locate part on CC?

Are there any clear instructions on how to mount the brace and where? Could any of you that have put one on the left hand side provide some pictures? I can't seem to find anything but the one picture here and it doesn't really resemble the one I got from the parts supplier. Thanks for any help.
