Well I was a drag racer in my early years.And have ran in 10 open road races.In Texas and Nevada
Ranch is A few miles South of old Route 66 Highway ( my home for the past 45 years.)
I can drive one of my Corvettes north to 66,
then kind of air it, you know blow the soot out for 15 mile east to San Jon or West to Tucumcari 10 miles.
Very little traffic on it ,all traffic is now on I-40 which runs along north of Old 66

I bought my 1963 Corvette long before my second son Kelly was born. But by the time he was 13 and getting interested in it, the car was in sad shape and in need of complete restoration. I started the job in 2000 just as his health began to deteriorate quickly due to cystic fibrosis. My hope was to finish the car while he was still healthy enough to enjoy it. I joined this forum in May 2001 when there was no better help anywhere on the Internet for someone restoring an old Corvette and I chose the name kellsdad in his honor. He passed later that year. The many hours I spent alone working on that car in the garage was the therapy that helped me through that very dark time. Each time I see kellsdad I am reminded of him and I always think warmly of the time we had together.

I thought this was started before but couldn't find it. Anyways, mine is derived from my favorite locomotive on my favorite railroad (Mikado#463 on the Cumbres & Toltec ex DRG&W narrow gauge) Rode behind her on my honeymoon (talking about the locomotive ..) 41 years ago.
I was into GTO's but a good friend, who has owned approx. 75 Corvette's corrupted me to buy my 67. Didn't want to continue with a Pontiac theme, so my "327" came about.
Mine came from a business I used to have being a dealer for "Trim Parts". When I was selling at swap meets people would call me "Mr Trim", so ever since, the name has stuck and my friends still call me by that moniker.

The user name is not very creative but comes from the guy I bought my 62 from. He lived a couple blocks away from me and I would "stalk" the car and stop in every time his garage door was open. Did that for four years and after our introduction, he started calling me "Tommy". Only person who ever did! Anyway, it stuck hence tomy62. Sadly, he passed a few months after the sale.
Westlotorn, my wifes maiden name and my father in law Bruce Westlotorn. Bruce passed not long before I joined and I thought it would be a nice tribute, and since it is an unusual name it was available.

As some of you may know, hikers on the Appalachian Trail are often given trail names. When my fellow hikers found out what I did for work they quickly start calling me Doc (Ph.D. in clinical psychology). The Maine part was added simply to note where I live but also to make the name somewhat more distinctive from all of the other Docs who frequent these forums.
