I'm happy for the owner that he was able to save a bunch of money on the crate motor and accessories. But as a guy who did 95% of the work to build and finish my restomod, I find it odd that he could afford to pay a shop to do a one and a half year restoration on his car, but didn't have enough money for the LS motor. I'm pretty sure the $3,000-4,000 he saved on the motor with accessories pales in comparison to the check he wrote for the restoration.

Fair enough - I agree that if you can afford the car (I assume as a toy), you can afford the motor...but the article said the car sat for 15 years post-restoration.

Came out nice and you can't beat LS power.

Nice looking and should be a fun driver '64 regardless of the finances.

That's pretty much what I paid for my LS3... I dont think they did him a massive favor. I guess if it came with the ECU and all of that AC inclusive FEAD, then its a good deal.

I can attest to the 64/LS3 formula though, makes a great car.
