Without factory AC you remove the surge tank straps. Carefully place the tank out of the way. Remove battery hold down bolt and heat sheild remove cables. Lift out. With factory AC remover drivers side front wheel. Remove access panel remove cables then heat sheild and hold down bolt. Remove battery. Side pipes has nothing to do with it

If it's a big block just unbolt & remove. Either way side pipes have nothing to do with battery removal as the battery come out from the top except in the case that you have AC then it come out from the side after removing the inner fender. Yes it's bolted in.

Having side pipes changes nothing on removing a battery. You remove it just like a car without side pipes just like Nowhere Man said, that is the easiest way to do it and the only way that I know of. That is if your car is a small block car.
