Default 1965 pass side inner fender Qs

ok, a friend of mine is looking at a 65 that had a small heat issue IE: FIRE. that warped and damaged the pass inner fender at some point so the owner says. any way there is a splice line that can be seen at the hinge support. i looked through my pictures of my 65 and it seems to look different. my body shop guy is gone until april with my car locked in his shop!!! sucks! so i have nothing to compare too.. can anyone show us pics and maybe explain why there maybe a difference? thanks guys..troy

Might be easier if you showed a photo of the damaged inner fender to help us identify the area of concern.

it is not damaged any longer. It has been spliced near the hinge plate and core support plate. Not a bad job but not right. he wants too get a full 65 original inner fender if things work out. And the reason we are questioning this is, the judging manual says that 65 is all by it self as far as pass side inner fender. And that 66 and newer have a squared off edge by the alum fill tank ? I have looked through all of my 65 car pics and none of them have a good pic of that area. So we are looking for clear pic of a 65 in that area. And then we will need a inner fender if things go right. Thank you Troy

64 and 65 right hand inner fender should be the same, 63 bonded to the surround panel so that one would be different. As stated the 66 67 are squared off and added clearance for the air conditioning lines. Originals are very hard to find, you will probably have to go with a reproduction press mold panel. They are all one piece no seams.

thank you guys! we did figure it out. i dug through some of my pieces, and found a inner fender out of a 65. and it is rounded at the tank mount area. i also found a newer version that is squared off.. so we are cooking with gas now ! i am gonna post pics shortly once i get them off my phone. i am gonna start another thread about side exh quarter/rocker cuts and rear inner fender body mount access panel Qs.. thanks everyone! troy
