Would you do it if you could?
I know that the members here on the Corvette Forum C1 & C2 section live in different parts of the United States and the world. But wouldn't it be nice and fun if there was a way we could all come together for a weekend and meet each other face to face and everyone could drive there car and have a great Corvette Weekend good time. I know it would not work out with members living in FL. and CA and WA to Maine and everywhere in between. Plus members living out of the country I know there is no way they could all send there cars over plus we (you ones who still work or have jobs) could not all get away at the came time. But wouldn't it be cool? How many C1 & C2 members do you think there are total on the Forum. I hope you all enjoy your Corvettes this spring and summer and fall plus you all who live where you can pretty much drive them all your long enjoy them also. Would you come together if we could??

Wish it were possible; the best Corvette gathering imaginable!
I do gather together all the C1 owners I meet here in central Mass. annually. We were fortunate to have Capevettes make the trip out here and show his beautiful red 61.

We live fairly close to Bloomington IL (not my first choice), Springfield IL (not my second choice), Indianapolis, IN (probably better), farther from Bowling Green (but, has more appeal), maybe Kansas City or Oklahoma City, or keep it central for those on both coasts.
Yes, I would love to drive it and be there. Problem is who can organize it and what will it cost?? 20,000 Corvettes parking, lodging, etc. Makes big money at the shows for the organizer.
I don't want to attend another show, no entry nor competition, just CHEW THE FAT and enjoy each other and our cars for whatever you drive.
How do you organize something like that???

I know they're not for everyone, but for those really interested in their C1 & C2 Corvettes, the closest "get togethers" are no further away than your closest NCRS Regional. As it happens for me, the closest one to my New York home is further away than the Florida Regional in Lakeland which is less than an hour from our Florida home. I wish my 1962 was down here in Florida, I would take it over with me. Lots of like-minded people, lots of top-quality cars, and a wealth of factual knowledge. Always a good time which I enjoy immensely every year. Also, don't forget your local Corvette Club. If you haven't joined yet, you should. I know my own local Syracuse Corvette Club has been the foundation of many long-lasting friendships, lots of great shows and parades, and able assistance whenever it's needed.
As for a large national get-together, I think that sounds great as well. Bowling Green is a natural choice, I've been looking for an excuse to get back there anyway. I'm not sure about driving the '62 that far, last time we took the C6 convertible and had a great 1600-mile round trip from Syracuse, NY to Indianapolis for the 500, then to Bowling Green (just before the sinkhole), then home. I would do it again in a minute. I understand it might be tough for those in the farthest reaches of the country away from Kentucky, but believe me, it's worth it. I'm in!

The Florida Reginal would be good (950 miles from me) but this year there were less then a handful of C1's and not a hell of a lot of C2's.
driven there, I was surprised since half of the forum lives in the south...
Bowling Green (Hot Rod Reunion or NCM) or Bloomington at Indy would be great.
Now remember we (RFN and I) planned a get together at Lakeland and only 4 or 5 showed up, but it was a nice meeting some of the forum guys.

I am thinking let everyone have plenty of notice so maybe doing it in 2018 in the summer time so know one would be driving there Corvettes in the snow or ice to say go to FL. in Jan. or Feb. if you live anywhere but south you could have bad weather to drive in during the FL. NCRS event so that is why I say do it in the summer time and maybe 2018 so everyone who wants to do this can make plans well in advance for to get off work or get rooms or what ever. What do you all think of that?? Maybe Bloomington Gold in Indianapolis or NCM, what do you all think?? BG would be more for everyone to do the the NCM or Corvette Fun fest about 3rd week in Sept at Mid America Motorworks in Effingham IL. just thinking out loud. What do you all think??

These places above are in about the center of the USA so about the same drive from the North and South and a little more from the west then the east. But if you have a better place in mind then put the name in the hat and we will see what comes out.

2018 is fine. I would love to meet this crew in Bowling Green. I'd be willing to drive anywhere, based on time I can take off as the limiting factor. The Kentucky area is pretty central for a lot of the population (admittedly it's just three hours for me!)
