69 years old and bought a 64 a few years ago. Always wanted one and so glad I did. A dream car to me, makes me smile eveytime I look at it.

Well, looks like I should take the "Old" part out of my name! Just a month older than the Corvette model itself. That would be 63 going on 64! My '62 was 12 when I bought it.

My father-in-law turned 88 yesterday. He is the original owner of his 1957 Corvette. He has every piece of paperwork for its maintenance dating back to the day he bought it. The only thing that isn't original is the title (because he moved out of state), but the current title dates back to 1960.

Wow! That is really cool. This year his car celebrates it's 60th birthday and your FIL celebrates his 60th year of ownership. You have to throw a party.

And the car car sounds very cool. Do you have any pictures?

We're on vacation now, but I found two photos on my phone (actually one photo plus one with it in the background). Is there any registry somewhere that we can find out how many pre-1960s model Corvettes are still in the hands of their original (living) owners? I can't imagine there are many out there.

Christina - Oh my, what a nice-looking car. And an Indian, too!

I don't know of a registry that's specific to what you're looking for but you might take a look at the C1 Registry at http://www.c1registry.com/index.php if you haven't already. You might find some leads there and you can register your FIL's car there as well so that others could contact him.

I agree. I really doubt there are very many people with an ownership record like your FIL's.

Take care,
Steve

At 60 I knew I wouldn't come close to being the oldest. My father is in his 90's so hopefully I get 15+ years of driving sports cars.

I've got a C6 Z06 and beat the snot out of it. Drive it hard, damn hard.

My wife keeps saying "why do you do those stupid burnouts" you act like a kid.

I feel 30ish and told her I'll never stop driving fast.

She's been in my Vette one time, the day I bought it.

Wow, some of you guys make a 62 year old like me feel like a pup! Which is a rare occurrence these days.....thanks for that!

I hope to be driving my 62 or a new to me mid year until I can't walk anymore.

Just turned 70 a couple of days ago.
Ordered my first Vette Sept. 68 while on R&R in Subic Bay. I've had two '69s,93,64, and presently have my '59 with me over the winter in Tex. and will be heading back to IN. for the summer in 10-12 days.

I see you are a NEW member. Welcome to you, your Vette and your Indian. I stopped riding motorcycles at the age of 35 after 30 yrs, of riding. I figured my # was about up for a crash but I would buy an Indian if I had the chance and may even ride again but only on an Indian. Again Welcome to the Forum. What is the pipe in front of the handle bars for?

I can not say that your Father in law is the Forums oldest driving member because I or we do not know if he is a member or not. You signed in and told us about him and his age. He needs to be a Forum member. Is he and does he still drive his 57 Vette?? Pic would help.
