NCRS allows 6 months prior for full judging credit. Realistically this date is about 2 weeks prior for most cars.

thanks larry, so then for instance may 15th, should be a end of april stamping on the housing? he has found one housing that was 4 days before his build that had a 355 gear in it. that is the gear he is thinking about. but i thought it might be too close to his build date? thanks for the imput..troy

The rear gears for the C2 cars didn't sit around very long. My 1967 car was built on March 28, 1967. (It just turned 50 years yesterday ) My rear gear housing is stamped March 23, 1967...............a difference of only 5 days.

And I KNOW my rear axle is original to the car.

Larry

EDIT: Corrected rear axle date.

You might point out to your buddy that the "numbers" on differentials aren't judged in NCRS Flight Judging - only the external configuration.

Larry, I'm sure you meant March 23.

My 67 build date was Feb. 24 (Friday car). My housing date was Feb. 21.

Bob:

Thanks for the correction. You are correct..........the rear axle build date was March 23, 1967 and not May 23, 1967. I made the correction in my earlier post above.
