Folks, thinking about a new set of wheels and tires for the C2 Coupe (with Disk Brakes at all 4 corners). Have a set of knock offs and would like some thing different in a 16" or 17" run and tire combo. Any recommendations and especially pictures would be very much appreciated. The car's bodywork is stock (no flares) with Vette Brakes front and rear suspensions.
Few pictures below of the current wheels on the car. Just looking for something different since the knock off wheels are pretty common now. Cleaning the fins of the knock off wheels are also a major pain in the butt.
-Thanks

Sorry, but your car just does not look right to me with those low profile side walls.
To me the best look is to fill the wheel opening up as much as possible but you need to have the right look with the proper mix of wheel and rubber. On mid year cars there is no reason to use 18" wheels to accomplish this and usually requires the use of a low profile side wall to make them fit.
Not dissing your car but I call them like I see them. If everyone liked the same thing it would be a boring world.
To the OP. It looks like you have air shocks on the back of your car or too much rear spring. Lower it down in the back and it will look and handle better. The "stink bug" look went out years ago. LOL

Unless you like a car that handles well. Im not disagreeing with your opinion from an aesthetics standpoint....I also prefer the look of a 15" wheel and tire combo, but based on the brakes behind those wheels, Im guessing (or hoping) this car gets properly thrashed, and theres no world where a 70 series, 15" street tire compares to the performance characteristics of a modern 18" street tire. All comes down to what you plan to use your car for.
As far as the OPs initial question...I'd love to see a set of ET Wheels mini lite replicas in a 17 inch diameter with a 45 series tire. Should provide enough sidewall not to look ridiculous, but plenty of performance tires still available in that size. I think the mini lite style would compliment the style of the build he's already got going.
