1963 seat removal?
Learning to ask first! Do they come out just like the other mid years?
Remove the two front bolts and yank forward off the track?
Thanks Mills

I'm not sure what you mean by yanking it off the track, but there are two U shaped brackets bolted to the floor at the rear of each seat on a 63. They mate up to a slightly beveled slide type bracket that is attached to the track. You do indeed slide it forward to uncouple them.

Depending on how tight the rear brackets are, you may have to loosen them as well before pulling the seat frame forward. Mine come out without messing with the brackets but that's not always the case. Dave

All mid year car seats come out the same way, yes. Just slid the seat forward after removing the front bolts, no need to YANK. I will tell you this I have owned many many Corvettes from 1954 till 1995 and almost every year in between including many many Mid Year Vettes. I will tell you it is my opinion that the 1963 seats are harder on your back and the most uncomfortable seats that were ever put in any year Corvette, bar nun.

Just to clarify for 67 owners, 67 seats are not attached the same way. The rear of each track are bolted down so you must remove all 4 bolts, front and rear on each track.

Hah! I think so ! My driver's seat is not beat up but could use a bit more cushion. If removal is that easy rather than rebuild it during summer I'd consider a quick swap of the two for the season since the passenger side has 90% less seat time. Is that crazy ?

Yea, I replaced the four chromed side seat supports on the seats in less then a half hour! Plus took a vacuum cleaner to tidy things up !

For anybody that is doing a resto, and replacing the carpet, I thought I'd pass the following tip along. I am almost done with the interior, and installed the carpet over Hushmat, and put the passenger seat in. First, make sure that both sides of the track are in line with one another before you set the seat in, (I made sure they were both at the extreme end on the adjustment). Secondly, the seat mount bolts are too short if you are using carpet that has the rubber backing and the Hushmat. I bought flange bolts that are about 1/4 to 3/8 longer.
I also loosened the front height adjustment bolt that is attached to the front of the track. It makes it easier to get the bolts thru the front floor mounts. As another aside, I figured out why the armrests sometimes have the chrome rubbed off the plastic base. When you fold the seat forward with the door closed, the seat side rubs slightly on the arm rest.

They come out easy but getting them back in to line up can be a real PITA. I struggled with my drivers side one for over two hours to get the tracks and U channels to line up.

I don't know what specific year you are asking about (this is an old thread) but the attached PDF shows the mounting hardware on our '65. Might be of some help.
The major vendors have the parts you need. Check for your specific year.
