I've shipped, and had frames shipped to me using YRC freight. A bare frame in a wooden crate will fall under their dimensional weight pricing. I've priced many point to point options and it always comes out to $350-375 with delivery to a local terminal. Meaning, YRC will pickup the crate from VPM and deliver it to a terminal closest to you (Sacramento). You then bring a trailer ( I used Uhaul's car transporter trailer) to pickup from YRC's terminal. You need a way to unload it off the trailer at your home.
YRC also offers liftgate service to your home for extra $$ (maybe $100-150 for home residential delivery and liftgate). Although a liftgate doesn't do much good for such a large crate. I slid one frame in a crate off the truck onto my 4 post lift.

VPM could also make arrangements. I would guess between $800 and $1200 to your driveway.
Hope this helps.

Does anyone know what the steel frame weighs? Has VPM ever built an aluminum fram? If he has, any idea what the aluminum frame weighed and cost?
