Default QJet Question

Hopefully there is some explanation for this. On a hard pedal stop, the engine will stall coming up to a stop light with clutch in. On a medium pedal stop, the RPMs will drop but return to idle speed w/o stalling. With a light pedal stop there is no change in RPM. Also on a hard corner turn with clutch in, RPMs will also drop. So is this a QJet problem or do I look somewhere else?

The Q-Jet has a small float bowl and is very sensitive to float level.
I would remove the top, I can walk you through, and inspect the float level.
The float is made of a material that can absorb fuel and make it too heavy, allowing the float level to rise above normal and causing your condition.

The carb was recently rebuilt by an old school local guy who has a very good reputation for good work. When I posed this same scenario to him he said it could be because he set the float level 1/16" lower than factory spec because I have a standard trans. I'm not smart enough to make sense of that logic. So if I understand you correctly, I may have too high of a float level especially if he didn't replace the float. I can ask him if he did. Thanks.
