I suspect that your car may have been near completion on E02 which was a Saturday, but was the first one completed on E04 Monday, but the operator left the E02 date in the holder by mistake. Realizing his error he re-punched the correct date of E04. A O Smith body no. A1224 was built on E02.

I have SR 417602 in the database that is also an A.O. Smith body.

It has a body sequence of A-1224 with an E02 date code. Your body number lines up nicely in the data. No reason to question the validity of your tag based on the data alone.

I have another date code double stamped Trim Tag in the data. The other one is a St.Louis body.......everyone makes mistakes!

Terry,

I added your info to the survey. Can you get me the Date code off your trim tag? I have a few cars very close to yours. PM me your email and info and I'll send you a copy of the survey.

Hello Terry....What Dave is asking for is the date on the trim tag that is located on the left side of the trim tag just above the word style....should be a letter then a number something similar to B12 or B13.

1964 was the first year GM used A.O. Smith manufactured bodies and there were many running changes made during the 64 Model year.

There were 22,229 Corvettes made in 1964 and I have 1125 entries in my data so far which is 5% of the total population.

I started with the C2 Registry and information from Nolan Adams. I have collected much of the information from publicly available sales.

I am looking to expand the information. I will share it with other 1964 Corvette Owners who are interested in adding to the data.

If you are interested in sharing your information and access to my info, send me a PM. I need your email address, the VIN # and a clear picture of your trim tag. It would be helpful if you share a picture of your VIN tag (not necessary, but preferred)

I am also gathering info on sill plate, grab bar, roadster top, and raised door handle details. If you supply this info, I'll enter it too.

Here's one from a local auction last weekend. It didn't sell. The interior had been changed to all Black.
