The cars and thier awards are registered with the NCRS, the individual judging sheets are not preserved though and that is what many people want when they purchase a car; it shows the areas judged, deviations from correctness and can be compared to the real car to see if parts have been changed, modified, removed since judging..
If you go to the Help Desk on ncrs.org or call your state chapter chairman they can help you out.

As Frankie said, the NCRS has records of all awards presented, going back to the early/mid 80's. This service isn't free though, there's a $300 fee for them to research a car's award history.
What you'll receive for your $300 is a list of all awards, the scores, the name of the owner(s) at the time of the awards, and the dates and the locations the awards were received. You will not receive copies of the judging sheets though. The judging sheets are returned to the owner after judging, and the NCRS does not keep copies of them.
