We are on week 5 of our 48 state tour. Just left Crater Lake this afternoon and plan to cruise up the coast of Oregon. Thing have been going great, the car is running well and nothing has been crowded. It looks like the crowd part may be at an end, we are hitting the coast highway for Memorial Day weekend. Any suggestions on things to do on the coast, for a few days, that will keep me out of a lot of traffic and crazy crowds.

Stay on the southern Oregon coast through Monday. The traffic in the central and northern part of the Oregon coast would be unbearable.

Went up as far a Tillanook, this morning, it was very foggy. Cut up to Washington and went to Mt. St, Helen. Great stop and no crowd. Heading for Mt. Rainier in the morning and Olympic next. Turned over 9,000 miles today and I'm not half done

I may have already done one first. We went to Monument Valley and I drove the dirt road loop, or part of it at least. If you have ever taken that trip, the bad part is the boulder covered pot hole switch back trail to the bottom. The Indians don't tell you the road condition and once you start down, you are committed to go to the bottom. I wouldn't suggest taking a tractor over that road. I guess you can drive over most anything if you take it slow and careful, but it was bad.

lol... while on our trip we went to Bode, Calif (the abandoned mining town east of Yosemite); dirt road the last 5 miles (seemed like 100....), to see forum member Jim Lockwood (who is one of the reenactors that host the town).

seemed like the trip would never end... BUT, it was worth it...
