Good job!

It can be stressful. I would wonder "what if the chain breaks right over the nose?", and stuff like that...

I worry more about those lifting pads that use carburetor bolts to hold....

AZDoug, wmf62,

I can't agree more with both comments! I almost didn't take the picture with the motor "dangling" over the nose because of the same fear.....

Thankfully, all went well. I also got the new windshield put together and installed yesterday (after cracking the first two). Expensive lesson, but it's done.

Yeah. What you said.

I did the math with yield strength of even cheap grade 3 steel and cross section of those carb studs, and the math says it is fine by a large margin, but my gut went, no, no, no.

you're right; the math says so... but throw in an aluminum manifold and it gets scarier...

I would much rather use larger diameter intake or exhaust or accessory bolts to be safe rather than sorry...
