A Corvette in Alaska might put a whole new meaning to "stored in winters."

It is listed on Craig's list for $47 K but shipping may not be cheap. Here is a link to it if someone is interested.

Stamp pad is clean, nothing on it.

I have seen THAT 66 Corvette being driven on the streets of Fairbanks in September of 2009.

It could be a once in a lifetime road trip to pick it up there and drive it home.

Do you know if they ever surfaced the Alyeska Highway?? When I lived in Anchorage for a year and a half back in 1977-1978, that highway was about the only way to get from Alaska to the lower 48 and it was nothing but a gravel road.

Having just (2 years ago) driven my dad's C2 out of Anchorage to Alabama (on a Uhaul Trailer) was a nine day adventure. It's paved for 99.5% of it, and we actually saw quite a few classics making the journey.

You can forget driving the car, there are points without gas stations that 6-8 mpg wont cover...

But how many months of that posting was weather suitable for driving a C2?

Also, I gotta think that there are fewer than average buyers for a car like this in that location.

Would need a good inspection, but for 47K it seems decent. But does that tach look correct for an original big block 66?

When I was in Alaska many years ago, and being a car guy I noticed many cars with minimal rust. Then It hit me they don't use salt on the roads.
