what engine do I have? 3855961
hey everyone. In my garage for years there has been a big block gm motor. It is just the short block. It is #3855961 . It also has T0207IN (I believe the last letter is N. Kind of over it in larger stamp is C127444. It also says Hi Perf Pass Truck A on one of the sides and then near the bottom is says Hi Perf Pass and K 10 . I cant tell if the 0 is a C or something else but I think 0. It also has A 18 8 It looks like. Ive done a little research so far and have seen it is either 65 or 66 but I am not sure of what it came out of or what size it is.

That casting number for 65-67 would be a passenger car 396 or a corvette 427. That casting was a truck 396 in 68&69.
If that is IN on the stamp and dated 66 or 67 then it's a 396 from a Chevelle or similar car.

that block was used in hundreds of thousands 65-66 Chevelles and Impalas as 396 engines.
IN was used for a 66 full size Impala 396/325 with a 4 barrel carb K19 air injector reactor and TH400
