Buyer lucks out on classic '54 find, less than 20 miles from his house.

It doesn't look like it is worth more than 53K.

I agree. Maybe a fair dealer all around, but I suspect the seller got the better end of the deal. Are '54's 100k+ cars? I know of a '55 T-bird that has been used as a shelf and laundry table since 1968, when it was parked in the garage of my ex-girlfriend's basement. The owner didn't want anything to happen to it, so he stopped driving it. He's had 3 daughters since then, none of whom have ever ridden in it, and is now a bed-ridden great-great grandfather. The car still sits, frozen engine, frozen brakes, pitting trim, exploded seats, slowly degrading in place. Why do people put such a high value on neglected, poorly store cars?

Great great grandfather....whoa. How old is he? That is crazy. Unless all family members were cranking out kids at age 20. Imagine what this guy has lived through....Cars being invented, going to space for the first time, computers....just wow.

how do seats split just sitting there, there is no tension and no sun damage.

I agree. I know someone who just bought a grand sport. He stopped driving it for a week on awesome weather days because he already has 500 miles on it. I teased him for about 2 days. lol.

I have had co-workers who became great-grandfathers in their 50's. Their daughters had kids at 15, then those kids had kids, and so on. I call it The Cycle of Poverty.

And a radio antenna on the right side fender ahead of the windshield as well.
