Default Where are the heat shields on the exhaust positioned?

Hi, are they there on one side to deflect direct heat to the oil filter and the other side, the starter? Or what? Thanks as always

Those heat shield should provide some help. I often times will get cars in that the customer wants to try to cut down on the heat and I actually make my own shields quite similar to what they sell. So much of it somewhat depends on how close the exhaust is to the floorpans.

This is what I use many times and that is that I guess I am lucky and I can drive it where they sell it. I can custom make any shield in basically any shape and this stuff is quite awesome ....NOT saying that the other products shown are not also effective.

The stuff I use ...when made correctly...will not absorb anything into it.
