Visited Havana Cuba
I was on a tour of Havana and as we were leaving a parking lot this 'Vette pulled in. Couldn't get off the bus to talk to the driver, but wanted to share this with you folks on the forum.

Methinks you posted the wrong pic.
But another shot of that short white dress would make up for it!

Sorry folks. I should have cropped the image. I thought it was the red car behind the girl in the short dress. All you can see is the rear end of the car. Sure looked like one from the side when it drove by. For all I know these old cars have been cobbled together for so long that the rear end may be from a T-bird.

Oh come on, cut the BS and tell the truth. You were so busy looking at the Chiquita in the white dress that you had no idea what kind of car was driving by! We understand perfectly!

This issue has been looked at quite a bit. I seem to recall that the last count was 3 Corvettes identified, a black 54, a red 58, and a red 59.

And current Cuban law prohibits the export of these cars, and other classic cars from the island without specific permission and lots of paperwork. They know what they have.

What's that little red car? At first glance, I thought it was a bug-eyed Sprite but it has a trunk and the taillights aren't right.

The car in the picture looks way too narrow and the windshield too high, IMHO, to be a C1 Corvette. More like a british roadster of some kind.
At first I thought it might have been an Austin Healey 100 or 3000 (their two color paint scheme could have been mistaken for the C1 contrasted coves), but I'm no expert and the windshield still looks too high for those...

The red car, up front, in the OP's picture, looks like a '57 Ford Fairlane. It's actually been filmed a few times.

Maybe that car is a Cuban version of a kit car - hobbled together from whatever parts were available, and combined with some home made parts.

I realize now the original discussion is about the big convertible in the front, not the small roadster parked in the back...
The car in front is way too large to be a two-seater, and between the white canvas top cover and the fins, I didn't think it looked anything like a 'Vette...

Wow a long distance shot of some gal in a skirt and the crowd goes wild.
You guys need to get out more. Or maybe "in" more.

Two '57 Fairlanes and a a Bug Eye Austin Healey Sprite. Not a GM car in sight.
