Default C-1 (62) Best source for tires and wheels

I am at the point of getting tires and wheels for the 62 project. The owner wants to go with the original style hubcaps (with spinners), wheels, and whitewall tires. I have read several threads on tire sizes etc. and we are going to stay close to the original size. The owner turns 80 tomorrow so I'd like to get this taken care of for him. I have looked at Ebay and "Googled" a lot so thought I'd ask if anyone has any vendor/sources you would recommend? He said they can be good driver quality but that is always a personal opinion of what "good driver quality" is. Thanks

I believe the wheel covers are available from a number of dealers like Corvette Central, etc as repops. Not as certain about the15x5 wheels that will work with the wheelcover. Tires are pretty easy based on what you say he wants. The 1 inch ww is made by Cooper and a few others at very reasonable prices and a quality driver tire. I would avoid American Classics- excessive pricing for the standard 205/75-15. Just my $0.02.

You need the wheels with the outer nubs to hold the hubcaps on.

Get the U.S. made repo hubcaps, not the foreign ones.

Good advise above. I bought a set of repop wheel covers (not cheap!), but very nice. Installing them onto my original wheels was a challenge as they are slightly larger than stock, and you want to be careful about beating on them! Probably spent 4 hours getting them all on.

For tires - I went with Kumho H724s - available at Discount tires, etc. They have the narrow white wall, which is correct (or pretty close) for a 62 . I believe diamondback offers an even-closer looking (to stock) white wall radial, but the price is 2X.
