LED glove box light
I'm in the process of changing all my interior lights to LED and ran into a snag with the glove box. As most of you know, LED's are polarized and the polarity of the glove box light is reversed so an LED won't light up.
Has anyone retrofitted another style light that works with LEDs?

I thought about the same thing but have not found a solution yet. I replaced my interior light bulbs (foot wells and rear compartment) with LED and wanted to do the same for the glove box but have not done it yet.

I'm thinking of one of those LED tapes, maybe 6 inches in length, mounted right behind the latch with power to it and the plunger providing the ground. My concern with that is glare and probably a better options is one of these.
In either case I'll have to mod the stock light socket assembly a bit.

I just upgraded my 65 interior with Super Bright LEDs. It is a real nice mod.
I had the same problem and used a different LED for the glove box. It is a softer light LED and is almost the same shape as the original.

How did they get around the polarity issue? I know some general use LEDs are actually two LEDs wired opposite each other so that regardless of polarity, they still light up but haven't seen that any of these style bulbs have that feature.
