Two of your retainer cans are wrong. The high beam and low beam have locating tabs in different places. These will index the bulbs to "straight up". I would just modify the existing cans to make them fit the bulb.

I am assuming you had headlights in the car and are just upgrading to halogens now. If so, the new halogens should slip right in without any problem.

But, since they don't, the first thing I would check would be that you have the correct headlight cups and they are in the correct position, i.e., inboard and outboard as well as left and right side.

Each cup should be marked with L1, L2, R1, and R2 on the tab by one of the mounting screws. Check and see if you have the correct cups in the proper positions as follows:

L1 to Drivers Inside
L2 to Drivers Outside
R1 to Passenger Inside
R2 to Passenger Outside

Hope this helps some.

Terry

Ugghhh, Mike types faster than me. I'm not sure how to modify them, but if you don't want to do that, new replacements are inexpensive to get the problem solved.

Those particular halogens should be 'plug and play'; I had them in my 63, took em out for judging and put 'em back in afterwards. Zero fitment issues...

They were/are marked and accordingly L1 should fit the High Beam not even close. And I know bulbs were removed.

I have heard I should just modify, probably what I'll do

Thanks Mike, 427390HP, Frankie

Default bulbs

I just put Halogen in my 63 & 67. Got them from Rock Auto . They were Wagner and were like 5 dollars each. Went right in No problems.
