Son
Dom: So sorry to hear about your son. It does sound like your son is moving in the right direction. Let's all hope and pray that he continues to heal. I hear you about brain surgeons. Many years ago, my dad endured a 23 hour brain surgery. The physician went through 3 sets of support staff during the operation. To say the surgeon was intense would have been an understatement. After the operation, he came out and said tersely, your dad will be OK and left. Thank God for people like them. Keep the faith. Jerry

I can't believe what is happening. Condition is improving so fast that we will be starting the recovery part of this. Kidney is working and liver may not need operation. Prayer does work wonders. I thanked the team of doctors and told them that they had more help than the knew about, prayer.
So many praying all over the country that it would be impossible to thank all. what a blessing.
Now to remove some slugs and go forward. Can't wait for the tubes and breather in his lungs to come out. 4 AM this morning the drain tubes in the head were removed. You guys are part of something that my family & I will never forget. Said it before, but I didn't get a chance to meet you guys but I know your hearts.
Sunday when the first brain surgery was to be happening, the surgeon came out and asked me to assemble my family in the hall. He said "I hate to have to inform you of this under these circumstances". That about dropped me to the floor. I thought the next few words were that I lost my kid. Then he went on to give us the doom & gloom part of what he found. That was the worst few seconds of my life.
before the next brain operation meeting with the surgeon I told him that he almost sent 8 of us to cardiac. He said" I guess i should have arranged my words differently. I want positive things and told of problems.
The road may be a long one but thank God we have the chance to do it.

Unbelievable. Given the severity of the crime, I'd bet my 67 it wasn't the perps first offense. I hope they got/get the SOB that did this.
I will continue to pray for him and your family.

I hope the prosecutor has plenty of photos to show in court.
Hang in there. Things WILL get better. Too many people pulling for you and your son.

I cannot imagine what you, son and family are going through. Just looking at photos makes me stop to catch my breath. My sincerest thoughts and prayers are with all of you.

I hope things go yalls way. Very hard to try and rationalizse why somebody has to needlessly go through this. My thoughts on it would be after someone is tried for a major crime they should be left alone with the victims or family for 30 minutes and after that the state can take care of the rest.

I'm very, very sad and very, very angry. This kind of BS has got to stop. Still pulling for you and your son, Dom, and betting karma is going to come into play here.

Seeing a child lying there so injured and helpless is every parent's worst nightmare.
I pray for your family to have the strength to continue sharing your hope with him - it's important. But it's impossible to fathom the emotional turmoil and fatigue of staying strong. Remember to take care of yourself - your emotional reserves are worthless if the 'vessel' is not maintained.

Thanks for keeping us posted.
Those photos are very, very tough to look at. Don't know you (other than from here) or your boy, but it is very difficult for me to type this out right now.
That they would even offer bond to a POS like that is beyond me.
Stay strong. You have an entire forum of friends here.
Just sick about this...

Dom requested that his message from NCRS website be posted here as well. He is not able to do it himself at this time.
I need to thank all of you for your prayers. The boy is going to make it. The Doctors were a bit behind all the prayers. He was transferred to another hospital where they specialize in breathing. The present hospital said he should not have had the TRAKE. They have a specific time period for leaving it in, it is 14 days for everyone. Another hospital to go and then I pray he gets back the part they removed to keep the brain swelling from hurting him. I am not at home and can't get my password for the CF forum so could someone pass the thanks on.
I thank you all for your generosity and prayers and for letting me post this thread .
