Default Reunited from 1967

Just wanted to share a short story.

My dad ordered his 1967 427 435hp new and after a few years sold it. He drove it and also raced it at the local drag strip for the few years he had it. It changed hands a few times locally before being sold to a gentlemen in NY in 2004. The car sat for years before being 100% restored recently. The new current owner found my dad who provided him with the original bill of sale and some pictures, etc.

Yesterday we finally were able to meet the current owner (NCRS event) and I was able to see the car for the very first time. It was a day I won't forget as I was able to see my dad sit in his car he ordered all those years ago. The car looked incredible in person which no picture could ever truly show.

Here is a link with a ton of pics from the current owner.

Great story. Beautiful car.

Must have been very moving for your dad to sit in it again.

Great story. Nice to see your Father standing next to the car he ordered back in the day. What kind of times was he running? Did he run it stock?

Did your dad have the stinger painted white after he took delivery? Do you have better pictures of the docs? Very neat story

When we were there the chassis had been judged already and 5 points were deducted. That's all I know as of now. Owner is suppose to let us know how it did.

He had slicks and open headers. Ran mid 11's

He did have it painted afterwards. He felt the white went along with the white top better and I have to agree. The new owner purchased the hardtop as it was not with the car.

Not sure why the link didn't work but here it is now.
Over 300 pics and close ups of docs, etc.

I'll be sure to relay all the comments to my dad.

Very cool story. Thanks for sharing. It got me thinking about all the cars I've had and sold.

This is a very touching story. The current owner was able to locate your Dad and your Dad was kind enough to provide him with the bill of sale. It's only fitting that your Dad was able to reunite with his Corvette. I'm sure both you and your Dad were moved by the experience. Thanks for sharing.

Once the new owner get his Top Flight, he should allow your Dad to run it through the 1/4 mile for old time's sake

Sadly once the car is home it's most likely never going to see the light of day again.

My 67/435 Conv. vin # is less than 300 after yours. Would love to see a close up of the engine pad to compare to mine.
