Project 1Cool63 - 1963 SWC with a SRIII Chassis
Well it seems I am a gluten for punishment, I am back for my 4th build since 2012. At the end of each build I keep saying this will be my last but the projects keep finding me. I am sure some of you know how that goes
For now I am calling this Project Second Chance because I am the second builder attempting to complete it
This car is not new to the forum but it is new to me. My good friend Matt (TNVetteGuy) started this project just under 2 years ago and he started posting progress pictures on 9/24/15. He stripped the car down, had it soda blasted, bought a lot of cool parts and he made a good amount of progress on the car. Then his priorities changed a little so we worked out a deal and the car now has a what I call a Second Chance at completion.
This was his build thread, I figured I would take some pictures and start a new thread.

This project may get off to a slow start because I still need to sell my stock 63 SWC to replenish funds for this build (oh and my wife said it is not fair for me to have two SWC's) so she wins.
I have big plans for the car but I am still on the fence on color. My other 3 Corvettes are red so everyone thinks my paint gun only sprays red. I am thinking it will be either Torch Red or I am thinking of Watkins Glenn Gray. We have never spayed metallic so we are a little concerned on how it will turn out. We have Touch Red down to a science and know we can make it look awesome. Both of them will have a red interior.
Here are some specs on the build to date:
63 SWC Donor Body
SRIII chassis with C5/6 suspension and a Camaro ZL1 Rear Diff
Power Steering
Power Brakes
A/C
LS3/430HP cruise and connect
Auto 4L70
Vintage Air Front Runner
Ididit Column
Lokar Shifter
Flat Firewall
C6 Seats
Tubbed but not flared
Z06 wheels
275-35-18's on the front Nitto Invo tires
325-30-19's on the rear Nitto Invo tires
I am sure I will have a lot of questions to the SRIII builders out there but I am looking forward to this build. I just need to sell my current 63 SWC and finish my 1950 Chevy truck project and sell it too.
I plan to shoot a lot of video of my build progress so stay tuned.
Here are a bunch of pictures to catch you up on the last two years up to last weekends relocation to my garage.

OK it has been a long road getting my wife's Auburn Speedster complete but it is now finished so I can get back to work on the Split Window.
Attached are a few pics of the completed Auburns. Will now start posting back on the split window

Sad for your friend, but glad for you. I look forward to seeing the progress. I'm not sure what chassis you used on your previous projects, but if you haven't used the SRIII yet, you will love it. I've used street shop, roadster shop, and SRIII. The roadster shop and street shop chassis flex really bad in the rear. SrIII does not flex at all.

I recently helped a friend put a Chassis Concepts frame under his 1960 and because they design their frame with Mono-Leaf he had a heck of a time getting the correct spring to get the front ride height like he wanted. The rest of the frame was quite nice but it really needs coil overs in all 4 corners.

This is pretty much what it looked like when I bought it, looks very familiar

Curt - Thanks for your reply on the other thread. Looking forward to watching for your progress
Your Garage is insane. One day I hope to have one half that size.
