Default Thought you had a bad day?

i had my zo6 in the NCCC judging today at Carlisle. Some poor guy in the next row over had his hood fall on his C4 and it chopped his finger clean off! His finger was still attached to the latch. I heard they were unable to reattach.

That sucks. I always 'pin' my hood open at shows/cruises for that reason. My buddies 62 hood got blown past the prop rod latch in a heavy wind at a show and when it slammed down it was like a rifle shot....I don't know why there wasn't any damage.

If any appendage had been in the way I could clearly see where something really serious could happen. Lord forbid a child would have had a hand in there.

That would cut your trip short. Pun intended.

Not surprising a C4 hood is really heavy. Having have a pinky finger crushed in a trailer accident it's a shame it was not able to be reattached. I was fortunate to have a dedicated surgeon who put the pieces together with a pin and save my finger.

I've always heard that C4 owners were my kind of people- hands on with their cars...

Coincidentally, I had my left hand ring finger smashed and broken when I was helping a neighbor work on his boat trailer and the dumb azz, "dumped" the bottle jack when I had my hand in the wrong spot...

It swelled up 3x normal size and my wife had to Dremel my wedding ring off in the garage to restart blood circulation. Years after having the ring repaired and back on the finger, I will NEVER hear the end of that

Yup a boat trailer. Words you hear when it's already to late "you got it?" Oh yeah I got it alright.

You can order or get in person the REMOVE BEFORE FLIGHT Tag and pin at the NCM Gift shop. I think they are like $6.00 without tax or shipping. Yeah that would suck big time to have a finger cut off like that or any way period.

Lost my left pinky in third grade from getting it caught in a manhole cover. My friend and I thought it was a brilliant idea to use it to smash an oil can so we attempted to lift the cover. It was too heavy.

We got our fingers under it and my friend lost his grip. I got all my fingers out except one. Doctors sewed it back on. Twice. (Pulled all the stitches out a few weeks into recovery dicking around like a kid).

Most of the finger is there but zero feeling in the tip. Kind of weird for a guitar player...

I'm playing guitar and singing on this - all the wrong notes are not my fault. It's my finger.

He didn't like the judges' scores, so he gave them the finger.

I worked with another civilian at the Navy Depot that lost his middle finger on the left hand decades before in an accident...on cold winter days we'd all wear heavy work gloves but when this guy would hold a wrench or grab a part ... that empty, middle glove finger would stay erect effectively giving everybody "the bird".

He was hounded incessantly about it but took it all with aplomb.
