Which is exactly the reason we (the Corvette community) need to get Mike's data retrieved from his old discs and hard drive. Mike used an Apple IIE with 5 1/4 inch floppy discs.

I (and others) am in cintact with Kettering's Archive department. The curator told me that Mike's stuff has not been properly inventoried and cataloged yet. They are working on that now.

And of further interest, by 51XX, a 4 speed would have been the preferred rowing tool for a racer.
Loren;

Do you have this VIN listed in Mike's data. I have a copy of Mike's 1957 report from around 2000 or so, and this VIN is not listed at that point. Mike's Vette Vues article (excerpt posted earlier) was from December of 1996.

The RPO report that I got from Mike around 2000 or so also included car number 5125. 5125 was not listed in the Dec, 96 report.

Again, I have nothing to indicate that 5128 was ever in Mike's data.

You are surprised? $$s for the most part are what drive the hobby and most posts on this forum weather blatant or not.

Nothing wrong with HAVING dreams but you also have to be realistic about the way things really are. I think most people here dream of waking up in the year of our choice being the age we want to be with the funds to order our exact dream car. Unfortunately we wake up to reality.

My dreams have nothing to do with money. I dream everyone is passionate about the hobby, just for the love of the hobby. You have proven my point....but I continue to dream.

Stop dreaming and get back to work. It always comes down to the money, just like you said.

Money is never a problem for those that have plenty of it or until you don't have enough for what you want or want to do.

Pedro, no I do not. It also does not show in my database, so it has not appeared in those sources either.
I guess it's time for zano to contact his legion of buyers and his broker in the Carolinas, bury the buyers in his documentation and count the $$$.
