Thank you, very cool.
It brought back some memories.
About 5 years ago (or a few more) I found a '65 stored in a barn, not too far away from my house. Turns out it too was a fuelie, (albeit the original engine was long gone). A good friend of mine now has it and is slowly doing a frame off.

A friend has a 1958 LoPo fuelie that he bought new. All original including paint. He has EVERY single piece of paper dealing with the car including all the cancelled checks where he made the payments.
It hasn't been driven in at least 40 years.
Unfortunately he doesn't have a barn, so he is forced to store it on a 4-post lift in his garage, under a cover.
Poor car will never be worth anything since it will never be a "barn find".

He could buy one of these. Then the Corvette would double in value.

fabulous story, but newsflash for Mr. O'Neill, that is a stamper motor, and not a great example. And I would bet a dollar that is not the original paint either. Very likely not a no-hit body.
Still, love the story.

It just goes to show that there are still some old barn finds out there and some may even have a SNOW TIRE on then like this one did. How cool. I think that is every Corvette guys dream to find a Barn Find original Corvette that has been put to sleep years ago and is waiting it's time to wake up and join the Corvette world again.

To me a barn does not make a barn find. What makes it a barn find is if it is a discovery. I see some stories where a collector does a bad job of storing his cars and maybe in a barn or an old garage - so not a big deal. This car was not in the hands of a collector. It has been hid out for 40-50 years, and it surfaced.

There will always be "barn finds". The nature of cars is to deteriorate over time, they're are not like furniture that can be stored indoors in climate controlled settings. Paint goes bad, rubber and plastics decomposing, rusting, fluids at the ready to leak out, It's a constant battle to keep them looking good and driving well as we all know. You put this all together with owners that don't know what they are in for when they take on a project car or even a nice driver at the time, and there are going to be barn finds as long as there are people trying find them.
Most of the old cars I bought over the years were closer to being derelicts than they were to pristine show cars, even though some of them looked quite good on the surface. It wouldn't have taken much in the wrong hands for these cars to have ended up as abandoned projects sitting for decades. Lots of "wrong hands" out there.

I have always liked barn finds best that were well stored, like this '62, which is an amazing discovery - I mean stored since 1967? Why? I believe he must have enjoyed looking at the car, even if he wasn't driving it.

An engine that has a stamp pad not stamped by factory workers. i.e.. a re-stamped engine block. The engine shown in the You Tube movie of this "find" clearly has a poorly done re-stamped engine block.
(now i know that you really know what a stamper motor is, right?)
