No, do not restore anything, sell it as is.

Sell the FI system as a complete system.

Sell the four wheels together.

I would try selling the brake system as a package first. If that does not work, then part it out.

If you cannot sell any of these as complete systems, then consider parting them out / separating them.

The wheels MAY be 1963/4 standard wheels. The 7320 is a 1960/1 FI unit. Remove the shifter rods from the transmission and clean the back edge of the main case on the LH side - should find a stamping beginning with a "W" - this will tell you when the trans was assembled.

That number that I circled on the one wheel will tell us what year they are.

OP, what is the number?

CHRIS WICKERSHAM in PASADENA , California restored three DEVINN SS cars over the years. He also is a Corvette and Rochester Injection expert.

You may have a ''real SS''model. CHRIS knew BILL DEVIN personally and reproduced the body parts and other item under agreement with Bill, who is now deceased. PM me and I will share his phone and eMail if you want to talk to him.

The parts are rare, even the ''non original'' backing plates. I think the ''value'' is leaving everything with the car.

I don't have contact info for him, but I might be able to get it this weekend. We'll be racing at Watkins Glen this weekend with the VRG (Vintage Racers Group). Dave's not currently listed as registered, but I think I can get contact info for him from the VRG's registrar.

As I said in my previous post, before you do anything to your Devin, I'd try to track down more history on it.

Thanks for the contact info. Unfortunately the car is not an SS, it is on a shortened and narrowed tri five chevy frame and was built by the husband of the woman I bought it from. From my research I believe there were 14 or 15 ss's (super shillelagh) built on a tube frame imported from Ireland. This seems to have been a home built race car. That being said I would like to talk to Chris and share some pictures of the car to see what else he may be able to tell me. I will pm you. Thanks again.

Not to rain on your parade, but some reality.
The backing plates are not Corvette big brake.
The shoes appear to be aftermarket--possibly velvetouch. Originals were small double-pucks immediately adjacent to each other, with rounded corners.
On the wheels, what size is the valve stem hole? Are there double-bumps near the valve stem hole. What does the profile of the wheel center look like? They are riveted, that is a good sign. There are a number of 15 x 5 1/2 Chevrolet wheels. Only one type is really valuable.
The drums and fans are definitely correct for Corvette and have value.

No parade here just trying to get correct information. The wheels have a 5/8 inch valve stem hole and no double bumps and they are riveted. I know the front backing plates should not have the holes drilled but the rear seem to be the correct mesh. Were you saying the rears are incorrect also?

Wheels are Kelsey Hayes, 5 x 5/12 K, dated 10 58 (October 1958). No reason to believe that they are not the real deal 5 1/2 inch wide wheels for C1 Corvettes. These are the high dollar wheels
