So sorry for your loss, it is gut wrenching.
I might suggest to others that they put some sort of tracking device on their car (well hidden, with it's own backup power supply).
Also camera monitoring of the locations where your toys are stored may not be a bad idea.
Defense in depth.
Hoping for a good outcome from this one.

Maybe a recently retired LEO that grabbed a PI license?

If they climbed over a bunch of furniture and had to move things, my first thought would be to try to get fingerprints. A lot of stuff got handled, and if they left a print, it could be entered into a database. I know when my truck was stolen back in 2000, and then recovered stripped, the police had better things to do and couldn't be bothered with taking prints, though, so your mileage may vary. Good luck. This absolutely sucks, and those dirtbags need to be drawn and quartered.

Sadly property crimes are way down on the list for most busy jurisdictions. Not sad that violent crimes come first- but more to the point there isn't enough manpower to persue theft to the fullest.

Doubt you'll get anything on the tag from that, but it does give you something to start with.
What the hell am I seeing, looks like the truck is wrapped in a giant green blanket....

Turns out one of the pics was of a gal who was in the system. When confronted by police she admitted to driving the car. She didn't or wouldn't give up her loser perp boyfriend who stole the car. In a drug rehab program at the time she was later arrested. I learned later on she couldn't make restitution and received 3 years probation.
FCbill. .. Hopefully the police will step up the investigation. Sorry this happened to you.

I have heard from multiple sources that the stuff you see on TV is BS. The cop shows always have some woman with weird hair and glasses who enters a few keystrokes and presto! they can read the tags on some car a mile away in the photo. In real life it just ain't that simple.

Yeah, I don't understand that. They will post a surveillance camera video of a bank robber and all you can see is a blurry image that could be yourself and you wouldn't know it. But the average homeowner can post a home security video of someone stealing a UPS package off their front porch and your can nearly count the freckles on their face. Why is that?

I have been reviewing video footage, these guys are GD Idiots!!!!!!! They are the luckiest SOBing thieves I have ever seen. It took them 2 hours to steal this car. What is horrible, they parked their truck and trailer in a driveway that was illuminated by street lights, FOR 2 HOURS on a 4 lane highway!!! Where were the Deputy Sheriff's and State Troopers??? I will provide more info later.

OP, I have some experience in this stuff. That is actually quite a bit to go on. You have to be your own detective. Trace the possible route and see if you can get additional camera footage from differnt businesses or homes. Homes are probably the best. Also see if there are any redlight cameras in the area that may have captured the crooks. If you get a plate or partial plate, ask the local Law Enforcement if they have a License Plate Reader (LPR) system that can query the partial plate and sort via Make or model. Same states have different plate sequences for autos and pickup trucks.
Also if they can sort through Field Interview cards or citations for that make and color truck, in close timeframe to the crime....might come up with the crooks.
Get the name and number of the local Auto Theft detective supervisor and be on a first name basis with him/her.
Good luck

Hide in plain sight!
Hope they are found and turned over to about 25 Corvette owners at midnight for their punishment!
