Default Have to wait another day

...before my 1964 Corvette coupe is delivered.

The shipper was running a bit behind. The car was actually picked up from the dealer in Denver at about 4 pm mountain time yesterday.

The car will arrive in north Alabama on Wednesday.

I am excited.

Don't let your enthusiasm keep you from going over the car completely on arrival.
Lots of things can happen in transit...

Absolutely correct Frankie. The car will get a very thorough inspection before the shipper is paid in full and departs.

The car will also get a very thorough check out for fluids, lights, operations before it goes on the road for the first time.

My 63 had sat up 4 years when I purchased it. The drum brakes had become marginal and I did a complete (and I mean complete) overhaul. One of the first things to check, of course. Not just how they feel - pull one or both front drums and eyeball 'em...

Also, if the brake fluid looks like Campbell's mushroom soup, fix it right off...

I checked most of that stuff at the dealership just before the test drive.

The car has been converted to four wheel disc brakes. Fluid looked great.

I had the car up to 60 mph on the interstate with no issues.

BUT, it will get a thorough checking over again once it gets here. No point in taking chances.

OOOOOOOOOOOH, the anticipation! Been there, done that. I bought my '66 in the middle of June and had to wait until July for delivery. My then 12 year old daughter and I waited all day; a day we both will never forget. Thanks provette67. I hope all goes well and enjoy

There are few things as exciting at most of our ages...
How often do you get to be the neighborhood celebrity?

Yes, the wait can be unbearable. But hopefully Ed, it won’t snow. When my ’67 was delivered from Texas in 2010, it was just starting to snow (in April no less). Enjoy the new toy.

Mine had to come out of a container from Australia. The events with the receiving company were not fun at all, but it finally got here unharmed.

I was equally impressed with him when he delivered my 2004 convertible from Pennsylvania to Alabama. He would have been my choice to get the 64 from Denver but the dealership already had great relationships with established transport companies.

I highly recommend Rick Powell of Show Time Transport to anyone looking to have a car transported.
