If I thought about it, I suppose I thought it meant something about the build of the dog breed itself.
No offense intended. I'm not sure I've ever seen a rat terrior, but I hate rats, so I guess that I'm predisposed to like the breed.

Nipper, the RCA “His Master’s Voice” phonograph dog, is a Rat Terrier.

I had a mice problem last year. After trying a bunch of mice poison and some traditional traps, I found this electronic mouse killer to be highly effective. put in some peanut butter and you catch 1 mouse a day guaranteed

Great video!
My Rat Terrier has never been around rats so she’s never caught one. However, she has a stuffed toy that looks like a squirrel. She shakes it violently just like the dogs in the video. These dogs don’t have to be trained to kill rats (and mice and squirrels and gophers). The behavior is bred into them. They have an amazing split personality. Violent killers when it comes to rodents but very gentle with kids, adults, and other dogs.
Terrific companions plus you never have to worry about rodents in your shop.

I've seen mice squeeze through 3/16" high cracks. I think their skull is deform-able.

We built a house in a subdivision that is basically a nature preserve and there is not much you can do outside of prescribed areas, so there is wildlife everywhere. We lived there a couple weeks before turning on the oven only to have an awful smelling smoke billow out the back of the range. It seems a mouse was storing dog food in the broiler box of our $15,000 DCS range. The smell was awful and the greasy smoke stuck to everything it came in contact with. We had an appliance guy take the whole thing apart and degrease every part. I was impressed with how well that thing was built. It was kind of like a frame off restoration.

When I was working for my cousin on one of his 3 farms @ 1972 shoveling the last 40 or 50 bushels of ear corn out of a crib which had a badly cracked cement floor;rats started running EVERYWHERE.
I killed 63 ( yes,sixty-three) rats with the scoop shovel; I begged my cousin to let me pour about 10 gallons of diesel fuel in the cracked floor and FRY the rest of them, but he was afraid I would burn down the crib. I was 17 and didnt care about the corn-crib;the "rat-terrier"in me was wanting to kill ALL those filthy vermin!
I may have to get a Jack-Russel to chase all the gray squirrels and chipmunks out of my yard and keep them at
