Of the very few 1967 cars that were factory equipped with the "heavy duty close ratio" M22 Muncie, were those a mix of 327 and 427 cars, or limited to a particular engine option?

From an old JohnZ post, the M22 was never a customer option and never appeared on an order blank. It was part of the L88 package. There were only 20 produced of each in 1967.

M22 became available a few months into the 1966 MY along with the J56 HD brakes and F41 HD suspension, and all were supposedly available only with L72, however, there appear to be a few L36 cars that might have the HD suspension, but it's not fully accepted as OE.

For 1967 all the HD options, including M22 and heater delete were REQUIRED with L88, and I believe that same could be ordered with L71.

Black Book shows only 20 ordered which is the same as the # of L-88'S so I'm guessing you couldn't get a M-22 on any other engine.

And the M22 was available (and delivered) in Chevelles beginning in 1966. It appears that 16 1966 Chevelles got an M22.
