Opinion on a change to my wheels?
I plan on different wheels altogether in the near future on my 64 Coupe, but in the interim I decided to try to give the rallys a different (hopefully better) look. The previous owner put them on the car (along with the raised white letter coopers)with the typical argent silver finish and monte carlo style derby caps. I quickly changed to the smaller 67 caps with the knock off style center caps. My 67 RS Camaro convertible has the identical wheels, and Rallys are not technically supposed to be on a 64 anyway, so I'd like a different look for the Vette
Should I keep the stock look..
or go with the black treatment below?...Trying for a little more aggressive, road race look of sorts...I think they may work with a black car like my coupe?
Easy enough to change back to stock...and opinions welcome..I've only done one side at present

Hard to say with a close up on the black one's. Would be nice to see the black with the whole car in the pic. but I would say silver would be the way. Just my .02

IF you're keeping the rallies, the silver looks way better. They do look much better with your spinner caps over the later style 'Monte Carlo' caps, that's for sure. If you want a more aggressive look, pop off the trim rings. And if you want to look retro AND aggressive, install some torque thrusts with matte gray spokes. They were around when your car was built!

Definitely not the black. Looks "high schoolish". I'd leave off the spinners even if you go silver.
I've changed the wheels on mine several times. It's the quickest way to make a huge change in appearance for minimal cash. I've had Grey Torque Thrusts, polished TTII's, Cragar's, US Mag's grey/polished and Ridler 650 chromes. In addition to the drag race setup with Bogarts and M/T's.
I like shiny wheels in general.....really offsets the car. There's always the old standby Torque Thrusts...but there are a lot of newer alternative wheels out there these days. I never thought I'd go for the "big wheel" look...but I've got some 18's on the rear and 17's on the front for when I'm feeling modern and I'll admit they sure drive nice. Still have the Cragar's with drag radials and skinnier front tire for the old school look.

You might try straight old school racer with plain black rims. That's tough!
I'm sorta past rallys and those fake spinners.

here's a side shot...After seeing it outside...meh...Kind of underwhelmed..
I have run torque thrusts on many previous cars..I see many C2s with the torque thrusts, but I'm looking for something a little different this go round. I'm considering the Hurst Dazzlers..
Stole this photo from the web..not sure who's coupe this is..I think on a black car they would look good? I also like the American Racing 200s series...

One of the first things I did to my '63 after purchasing it in 1969 was pick up a very nice set of '67 rally's for it. At that time everyone seemed to be in love with Cragar SS's and $40 for the wheels, trim rings and caps fit in perfect with a college students income. I still have them today and they always seem appropriate on any mid-year to me.
Good luck... GUSTO

I like that look also, reminds me of minilites...In the meantime I've already returned my rallys to their former silver finish..The more I looked at the black, the more I disliked it...Some ideas work...some don't.

Here is another 64 with spinners. I like your black wheels and spinners. Try it for a while.
