Wait him out.. It sounds like the car is not even for sale yet. I know where there are lots of cars like that. I even have one. It's not for sale either.

Back in the day, owned and flipped many 10 year old mid years that were clapped out or redone. skeptical. skeptical.
That said anything is possible.

I guess we will find out. I have no doubt it’s original and sure it’s there. Hopefully I will get to look soon. He has a lot of original docs and a copy of the original title. The original owner is 93 and he would be my first stop as soon as I get the car bought..

Documentation affects value. So look that over before formulating an offer. Again, since you came here to ask about value, post photos of the car and the documents so we can help answer your question.
