Exhaust manifold - A/C bracket
OK, I am puzzled.
I have a 902 manifold on the passenger side of my engine. It has the cast bosses to mount the alternator bracket. I removed the alternator bracket when I moved the alternator.
I recently acquired the lower air conditioning mounting bracket 3841696.
I am looking at the AIM, and trying to figure out how the lower A/C mounting bracket mounts to the exhaust manifold.
Anyone have a clear photo of a factory 64-65 A/C car that shows how these brackets mount?

Pay very close attention to the AIM regarding the order of assembly of all the spacers, washers, shielding brackets and the like when you begin putting it together. All those bits and pieces are like a jigsaw puzzle, and if a washer is misplaced or the thickness of a spacer is wrong, the brackets will not align properly and nothing will fit when it's time to bolt the compressor on. Ask me how I know

I remember having to do some washer shimming with this bracket to get it parallel with the motor. A long dowel inserted into the bracket, acting as a pointer, helped with the "eyeball" checking.

Just a heads-up regarding the installation of that bracket, if and when you acquire the proper exhaust manifold.....
