Default Antifreeze dripping from expansion tank overflow hose

I've got a 64 L76. In the cooler temps, parked cold, it leaks antifreeze from the overflow hose. Why would the coolant expand in the cool weather? It did this offseason last year too. Any input would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks,
Ray

Lack of antifeeze percentage in a near freezing condition? Ice expands. That's how blocks get cracked. Check your percentage with a spectrometer or hydrometer, and check that your system isn't overfilled, which would be my first guess.

If that doesn't work, replace the radiator cap gasket or radiator cap.

Can you tell us what you call “cooler temps” in degree Fahrenheit??

I'm in RI. Night time temps in the 30's. The garage doesn't get under 45. It is an NOS cap, so that's probably the issue.
Thanks,
Ray

Happy Thanksgiving Nelson and all the forum members,
we should hookup next year at one of the shows. I usually get to Oakland beech with my my daughter a few times a season, or Corvettes by the Sea is a great one. Took best of C2 this past August. Maybe we even chatted if you were there. Good to hear from a neighbor.
